The Skincare Geek v2.0

I’m baaaaaaaack!

Hi everyone, Happy 2018! How’s your skin this holiday season? Hopefully all the festivities and travels did not disturb your skin health in any way! As for me, I just got back from a month long vacation in my motherland, the Philippines, and my skin actually reacted with the change in weather and air. I can’t wait to share all about my skin care journey and a new facial procedure I’ve grown to love.

I know I’ve been in a long hiatus ever since my last post and once again, I apologize for that. However, the new year calls for new beginnings and it definitely is a perfect time to refresh and revive this website.

This 2018 for me is all about making things happen & pursuing passions with grit and determination so I’m ecstatic (as you can tell) to announce that I finally enrolled to become a licensed esthetician to pursue my passion in skin care!

For those who don’t know, estheticians/ aestheticians are trained in skin wellness, most often helping their clients combat complexion problems through a number of therapies and practices. There are different levels of certification, but estheticians are prepared for a career where she/he is an expert in skin physiology, microbiology, intimate knowledge of the muscles, bones, nerves and other systems of the face, neck and shoulders, and even the entire body if they are to perform body treatments. In short, I’ll be a legitimate skin care expert!

For the longest time, I’ve been wanting to pursue this but didn’t have the courage to for the fear of uncertainty and instability but here I am, a day away from my first day of school in Bellus Academy (Poway) here in San Diego and I just can’t wait to share with you the adventures I’ll be tackling as I go along this course. I’ll be learning about all things skin (epidermis to dermis level) so I can address skin concerns with more knowledge and theory now!

I can’t wait to share my learnings and my journey to becoming a licensed esthetician with all of you as I revive this website. So for my fellow skin care geeks,

Welcome back to The Skincare Geek v2.0 and stay tuned for my upcoming posts! ♡

With love,

The Skincare Geek

Can you do a guide on using actives? I’m looking into trying the CosRX power liquids because of all the great reviews, but I’m afraid I’ll do it wrong and do more harm than good to my skin!

P.S. I started just washing my face with water every morning since I read about it on your post and it’s gr8 advice!!! I’ve never looked back!!
